Once again, it is time for the Florida Educational Negotiators Spring Conference Training Program The conference will begin on the morning of May 21 and run through noon on May 23. The location of the conference is the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, 100 North Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida. The telephone number for hotel reservations is 1-866-536-8477. The deadline for reservations to receive the conference rate is April 20, 2008. The single/double rate is $123 per night, and you must identify yourself as a FEN conference participant to receive that rate. The group rate will be honored for three days before group arrival and three days after group departure based on availability.
The keynote speaker for this year’s training program will be Steve Gilliland. A variety of topics will be presented this year which will appeal to those new to the negotiations process as well as the seasoned negotiator. These topics include: Basic Bargaining, Processing Grievances, Financial Urgency, Bargaining Strategies, Progressive Discipline, Making Funding Arguments to a Special Magistrate, Health Insurance and much more. The final session of the conference will feature a report on 2008 Legislation.
