Once again, it is time for the Florida Educational Negotiators Spring Conference. The conference will begin on the morning of May 11 and run through noon on May 13. The theme for this year’s conference is “Bargaining through Tough Times -- will it ever end?” The location of the conference is the Renaissance Tampa Hotel, 4200 Jim Walter Blvd., Tampa, Florida. The telephone numbers for hotel reservations are 813-877-9200 or 1-800-644-2685. The hotel is accepting reservations now. The deadline for reservations to receive the conference rate is April 10, 2011. The single/double rate has been reduced this year from $128 to $92 per night. You must identify yourself as a FEN conference participant to receive that rate. The group rate will be honored for three days before group arrival and three days after group departure based on availability. Once again, the registration fee has not increased!
The keynote speaker for this year’s training program will be Joe Malarkey. Topics for this year's conference will be consistent with the theme. These topics include: Basic Bargaining, Processing Grievances, The Affordable Care Act, Social Media, Impasse, Financial Urgency, The Florida Economy and others. Once again, our presenters are outstanding. The final session of the conference will feature a report on 2011 legislation.
All of you will be bargaining this year under economic conditions you have never experienced before. This is a "must attend" conference.
